About

Known for our friendly atmosphere and superior customer service, Lakeland General Store is happy to continue serving the lakes area for over 40 years.  Previous owners, Robin & Carla Johnson, owned and operated the Cornfield Cafe along with the store until February 1st, 2003 when they sold the Cafe to one of Carla’s long time employee, Karen Bunkowski.  In July of 2017 Robin & Carla sold Lakeland to Bob & Jenifer Schempp.

Back in 1976, Robin and Carla started out in a very small building just north of where the store now stands, with living quarters in the back, and a gas pump out front.  Life was much simpler then.
